Why should I work with an interior designer?

Whenever you enter a room and feel a connection, a cozy or comfortable feeling, you may not be able to determine what it is that makes everything work.

A good interior designer has mastered the intangibles that made that perfect room come together.

One of the most difficult factors to master is scale. Each room has scale as well as each piece of furniture. If something is a little off, your eye feels uneasy. An interior designer can figure all that out before you accidentally purchase the "wrong stuff."

Another tricky factor is flow, or furniture placement. Your designer knows the ideal amount of space needed between pieces of furniture and how to arrange the furniture for a comfortable flow, or access into, out of, and within a room. Your designer will keep you from over- or under-furnishing a room.

Color and texture are two more important ingredients in a well-designed room. Your designer can select the best colors and texts to create a soothing environment or, conversely, a stimulating environment. The designer works with you to determine the function of the space and then recommends the ideal flow, furnishings, colors and textures.
